Pictures of Genital Warts

Genital warts are difficult to detect at the early stage.

In women HPV infection and genital warts are diagnosed either by Pap smear confirmed by a second test. Sometimes an examination called colposcopy to take a better look at the vagina and cervix using a magnifying glass is done to detect genital warts. When visible warts are present diagnosis of genital warts is easier.

In men genital warts can only be diagnosed if warts can be seen.

Sometimes a vinegar solution is applied to the genital region to “whiten” to help visualize flat warts.

The visible warts may vary in appearance. To view pictures of male and female genital warts scroll down the page. These pictures show genital warts that are considered to be of advanced stage.
